Last week, on May 20, local activists and volunteers got together to celebrate a local non-profit called Opportunities, Alternatives, and Resources, or OAR. OAR is a 501(c)3 organization that provides support services for current and former jail inmates in Tompkins County. Since 1976, the organization has been making a difference in Tompkins County and at the group’s 2015 annual meeting, Executive Director Deb Dietrich handed out the OAR annual report outlining the organization’s purpose and most popular client services.

A number of Ithaca Prisoner Justice Network members attended, and one served as the event’s keynote speaker. The event kicked off with a word from Kevin Kelly, the board president.
